TakeAction

You can help push for fairer systems and build stronger community in a number of ways. Here are some ways you can take action.

Advocacy

Advocating for change challenges existing inequalities, creating opportunities for real, measurable progress. It allows our collective voices to be heard, pushing for policies that build a fairer world in which we all want to live.

Here are two key campaigns that No Place for Poverty is partnering with — we’d love for you to support them too.

Raise the Rate

Raise the Rate campaign

If we’re going to create a more equal and resilient community, we need to raise the rate of income support payments to at least $82 a day so everyone can keep a roof over their head and food on the table. By joining the Raise the Rate campaign, you become part of a large community of Australians who are calling on our Federal Government to #raistherate.

End Child Poverty campaign

Nationally, one in six children are living below the poverty line - that’s 761,000 Australian children living in poverty, and more than 200,000 experiencing severe poverty. We need people like you to join the campaign and help us call on the Federal Government to finally end child poverty in Australia.

Local Solutions

No Place for Poverty is proud to partner with the following groups. Their focus on local ‘doing’ is the perfect way for you to share your time, skills, and passion and make a difference to people struggling in our communities.

Volunteering WA

Volunteering WA empowers people and communities to enrich Western Australia through advancing volunteering across the state. They represent thousands of organisations who advertise volunteer roles that directly benefit people and place. Check out the roles and how you can help!

Town Team Movement

Team Town Movement inspire and support local people (‘doers’) to create the positive change they want to see in their area. 164 local Town Teams and thousands of people are part of the movement across Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Poland.

Your way

Some people like to walk to the beat of their own drum, carve their own path, and do it their way. That’s great!

No Place for Poverty wants to empower people to take the paths they think are best to reach collective goals. If you have an idea that you want to put into action, you have our permission to go for it! In time, we want to support you on your action path… but movements need to walk before they can run.
